Description
The Canadian Conference of MB Churches (CCMBC) released the first Canadian printing of the Mennonite Brethren Confession of Faith in December 2018.
For the first time since its 1999 North American revision, the confession has been reprinted with a new cover, and a new introduction titled “The Nature and Function of the Confession.”
Complete text of the 18 articles that not only describe how the Mennonite Brethren Churches in Canada interpret the Bible but are also an authoritative guide for biblical interpretation, theological identity and ethical practices. Each article has accompanying supporting biblical references.
The new Canadian introduction addresses frequently asked questions including, “Are all articles in the confession equally important?” and “In what ways is the confession authoritative?” Prepared by National Faith and Life Team members Elton DaSilva, Andrew Dyck, Doug Heidebrecht, Ingrid Reichard, Rob Thiessen, and Tabitha VandenEnden, “The Nature and Function of the Confession” features a diagram depicting the ways our 18 articles of faith – from salvation to stewardship – are integrally related, “with the triune God at the heart of everything.”
