For Such a Time as This

Ruth, Esther and Jonah are three old testament books told as stories: stories of life and faith that are both challenging and inspiring. In these stories, we are invited to identify with the characters as they are faced with difficult decisions. We are also shown how God works with and uses circumstances and faithful individuals for His purposes. Yet God is not merely interested in our activity or even our obedience. He longs for us to know Him deeply and to delight in His compassion for all the world. Only out of that center can we act meaningfully on God’s behalf at “such a time as this.”
